Rocking around the Xmas tree..........

In our school, every Wednesday morning, we have an assembly as a ritual. It is conducted in the school auditorium on the fourth floor. The entire MYP, IBDP classes and the faculty members look forward to it as students of one of the grades perform for a momentous and worthwhile session.

On 14 December 2011, the IBDP 1 students organized an assembly on Xmas. What could have been better than to express their happiness when the festival of joy and gaiety was round the corner. All these events give students an opportunity to develop some traitys of the IB Learner Profile.

Read below, what Aseem Garg IBDP 1 has to reflect on his class performance.

Compeering for an assembly in front of the whole school was a new experience for me. It was a real task that I was going to undertake. We performed a show on Xmas and portrayed its true spirit. Our show enlightened the students of RBKIA about this great festival which is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm all over the world.
This opportunity gave me a lot of self-confidence to perform in a front of an audience no matter how big was the audience, and also how to speak in front of an audience. I was part of DP band and played guitar for two Christmas songs. Asra performed a graceful ballet titled Swan Lake, Sunny and Vinay gave an interesting PowerPoint presentation on Christmas.
We were very successful in achieving our goals although we faced few difficulties which we will be able to rectify if given an opportunity in future.
Personally, I found out that I have good team spirit and work better and collaborate with others in a group. Sumeir Malhotra and Rishikesh Nair taught me to be more open to people and more confident in front of a gathering. I have learned to co-operate and adjust with others and gained more confidence to handle other life situations involving large groups of people.
